Troy Parrott scores a brace in U21 Ireland’s 3-1 win over Sweden
Troy Parrott hasn’t featured much for Tottenham this season but the youngster should get some games later in the campaign.
The 17-year-old is the back-up to Harry Kane after Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen left in the summer, and the youngster was in action for the Ireland U21 side.
Sweden took the lead through Mattias Svanberg but Parrott equalised in the second half. Connor Masterson then put the Irish ahead in the 87th minute before the Spurs striker scored again in the dying minutes of the game.
Fans want to see Parrott in action
The youngster might have a lot of raw talent but he still needs to be slowly brought into the team by Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham could use him in the domestic cup competitions this season, and it seems we have a bright talent on our hands.
Parrott is still 17 and needs a load of first-team experience. It would have been great to send him away on loan in the summer, but Pochettino must have a plan for the Irishman.
Many Tottenham fans had seen enough of the youngster and wanted him to play in the first-team. Some were pleased with his finishing skills too, and here are a few reactions from Twitter.
