Kevin-Price Boateng reveals how he failed to make best use of his talent at Tottenham
Former Tottenham midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed that he didn’t do enough while at the club.
The Ghana international had stints at Portsmouth, AC Milan and is now Fiorentina.
The 32-year-old came to Tottenham as a player with a lot of promise, but the midfielder told La Repubblica that he didn’t make use of his talents back then (h/t Evening Standard):
“I’ll go back and say: I didn’t treat football as a job.
“I was an idiot. I had talent, but I trained the bare minimum, an hour on the field. I was the last to arrive and the first to leave. I’d be out with friends.”
Boateng also spent some time at Barcelona after his spell in England, and the midfielder shared what all he did to try and attain some happiness at Spurs:
“I had money, I lived like a king. I’d never been to the gym. That changes your later career.
“I bought three cars in one day when I was at Tottenham: a Lamborghini, a Hummer and a Cadillac.”
A talent that never flourished at Tottenham
Boateng had all the skills to be a star at Tottenham, but things never clicked for the Ghana international at White Hart Lane.
He did have some great moments during his time with Pompey, but they were few and far between.
The 32-year-old seems to have realised what his mistakes were while at Spurs, and hopefully, he is enjoying his football now.
