Real Madrid to test Tottenham with cheap bid for Christian Eriksen
Spanish outlet Defensa Central (h/t Sun) suggests that Real Madrid will bid for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.
The Dane was unable to join another club in the summer despite openly stating he wanted a new challenge and is out of a contract at the end of the campaign.
Eriksen was one of the key players for Spurs in the second half of the previous season and has played in all four of our Premier League game so far.
The 27-year-old scored in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal before the international break and selling him in the January window ensures we don’t lose him for free at the end of the season.
However, the report claims that Madrid will offer between £18m and £22.5m before the Dane’s contract runs out.
Tottenham cannot sell Eriksen cheaply
Spurs should not let Eriksen leave for such a miserly sum in the winter window, even if the Dane can leave for nothing at the end of the campaign.
Keeping him till the end of the season would be a better option, especially if we are in the race to win a trophy or two.
The Dane is still one of the best players in the Premier League and £22.5m is an insulting bid for a player of Eriksen’s quality.

Daniel Levy is always on the lookout for the best deals for Spurs, and he will ensure we get a decent sum for Eriksen should we sell in January.
