Mauricio Pochettino confirms rotation as Champions League and Carabao Cup beckon

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed his plans to rotate his side ahead of the Premier League clash against Leicester City.

Tottenham play Olympiakos in the Champions League during midweek and the clash against Leicester won’t be easy either.

Our Carabao Cup campaign begins the week after the Champions League tie as the fixtures come thick and fast in the month.

The boss was speaking after the 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace at the weekend, and confirmed his plans for the team (h/t Leicester Mercury):

“With this match we have seven games in 21 days and all are going to have the possibility to play and we are going to rotate in different games.

“That is the most important thing.

“We are going to give the chance to all the players to play and show their quality and fight for their place.”

The manager added that he wasn’t concerned about any injuries to the players as Spurs play in three competitions over the next two weeks. Pochettino also warned the reporters not to question his decision about mixing the team up:

“Of course be ready, because I’m going to rotate the squad and the team and try to be creative on Tuesday and ask me not always the same questions always about when some players are not in the squad or team or this player is playing and not another.”

Interesting decisions ahead for Pochettino

Tottenham have a few injury concerns too, and it will be interesting to see how we line up for the cup games.

Spurs need to start their Champions League campaign well, as our next game in the group is against Bayern Munich.

The 4-0 win over Palace was huge boost for the team, and we should aim to play every game in the same manner.
