Daniel Levy to slap £250m tag on Tottenham star to scare off rival clubs

Daniel Levy will slap £250m tag on Harry Kane to avoid losing star

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will fight off any club trying to sign Harry Kane by slapping a £250m tag on the striker, according to the Telegraph.

Kane has made it clear that Spurs need to win trophies now and individual honours are not enough. However, Tottenham have made an average start to the Premier League and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Colchester United.

The English striker was rested for the clash against Colchester, and it is a difficult prospect for Spurs to win either the Premier League or the Champions League this season.

However, Levy is determined to keep hold of the forward even if Spurs do not land a trophy (h/t Telegraph).

The chairman values Kane at £250m and hopes that this figure will be enough to scare off Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona, according to the report. Kane is contracted to Spurs until 2024 and had recently signed a new deal with the club.

Tottenham need to keep Kane

The Englishman is one of the best forwards in world football and losing him would be a massive blow to our ambitions. Replacing Kane would be next to impossible and we need to land a trophy soon.

The FA Cup is a realistic target and it will be interesting to see how things pan out in this competition. We are already 10 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League after just six games and we drew 2-2 with Olympiakos in our Champions League opener.
