Max Allegri ready to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham
The Sun reports that former Juventus manager Max Allegri is waiting to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.
The Argentine has seen Spurs struggle this season and the latest speed bump was the defeat to Colchester United in the Carabao Cup.
Spurs have also let leads slip against Olympiakos, Arsenal and Leicester in recent weeks, and the report claims that Pochettino is considering leaving the club after five years in charge.
Allegri won several titles with Juventus but left the Turin giants last summer. Juve have brought Maurizio Sarri in his place, but the former Chelsea manager is yet to see the best out of the Italian giants.
The Sun adds that Allegri would be interested in taking up the job should Pochettino quit Spurs. Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is another manager who could be in the running for the Spurs job, according to the report.
Levy wants to keep Pochettino
The Argentine signed a new deal with Spurs last season and Daniel Levy doesn’t want to lose his man (h/t Sun).
The chairman spent big to land Tanguy Ndombele and three others in the summer, but the performances haven’t been there at all recently.
Allegri is a good coach, however, Pochettino has worked miracles at Tottenham since arriving from Southampton. Reaching the Champions League final was no fluke and Poch might need some time to get things back on track.
