Tottenham could move for Max Allegri as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement
Former Juventus manager Max Allegri is on a bit of a break after his time with the Turin giants. The Italian was replaced by Maurizio Sarri this summer, and hasn’t taken up a managerial role yet.
However, the former Juve manager could be on his way to Tottenham should Mauricio Pochettino leave. Calciomercato claims that Real Madrid see the Tottenham boss as Zinedine Zidane’s replacement.
Los Galacticos are yet to click despite spending a huge amount this summer, however, they could decide to get rid of the Frenchman (h/t Calciomercato).
Tottenham will likely move for the Italian should Pochettino leave in the future. The Italian was extremely successful with Juventus, landing five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia titles.
He wasn’t as successful in the Champions League, losing twice in the final, and it will be interesting to see when he is back in the hot seat.
A big test for Allegri
The Italian managed one of the strongest sides in Italy during his spell with Juve and moving to Tottenham would be a huge test for Allegri.
Pochettino has built something from the scratch at Tottenham, and he has seen the team stumble this season.
The Argentine is still the best man for the job, however, there is no harm in keeping options open.
