Real Madrid want Christian Eriksen on pre-contract and are keeping tabs on Mauricio Pochettino

Real Madrid want to sign Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen on a pre-contract agreement in January and are keeping tabs on Mauricio Pochettino, according to the Mirror.

The Dane is a free agent at the end of the season and can negotiate with foreign clubs in the winter window. Real Madrid are willing to wait until the January window before landing him on a free transfer (h/t Mirror).

The report adds that the 27-year-old has rejected an offer of £200,000-a-week from Tottenham, and is waiting for the move from Real.

The Dane had spoken about taking up a new challenge in the summer but remained at Tottenham. Spurs have struggled this season, with the loss to Colchester the latest in a string of poor results.

Poch move on the cards?

Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real hasn’t been great after their shock 3-0 defeat at the hands of PSG.

The performance of Los Galacticos wasn’t the best in Paris, and even though they are leading La Liga, the report claims that Zidane is under pressure at the club.

Mauricio Pochettino

Real see Pochettino as the man to replace Zidane should the Frenchman leave, and the Argentine is frustrated with ongoings at Spurs (h/t Mirror).

Eriksen hasn’t hit the heights of previous campaigns this time around, but that could not be said about many players.
