Mauricio Pochettino claims Moussa Sissoko could be the right-back against Brighton
Tottenham face a tough decision on who will play as the right-back against Brighton on Saturday.
Serge Aurier is suspended after his red card against Southampton while Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters are still recovering from injuries.
Davinson Sanchez has been tried in that position, but things haven’t gone well for the Colombian on the right flank.
Mauricio Pochettino needs to get a win on Saturday, and in his pre-match press conference claimed that Moussa Sissoko could start as the right-back (h/t Football.london):
“A few options, I think Moussa was very good playing one hour against Southampton with tough players like Boufal or Redmond. He did very well and that made me think a little bit that his option is bigger than another player.”
The best option for Spurs?
Sissoko has done a great job since turning his career around last season and could be the best option given our situation.
The Frenchman has a great engine and can power his way past the opposition defence. Sissoko can also provide some great crosses and passes for the attackers, and it will be interesting to see how we line-up tomorrow.
Spurs need to get three points after the mauling at the hands of Bayern Munich in midweek. Our attack looked good for the opening 30 minutes but the defence wilted away after half-time. Hopefully, we avoid such a performance against the Seagulls, especially away from home.
