Tottenham to battle Liverpool for David Neres signing
David Neres was one of the top performers for Ajax last season as they reached the Champions League semifinals.
Tottenham got a close look at the Brazilian as we defeated them to reach the final, and we could move for the 22-year-old.
Calciomercato (h/t Sun) claims that we are looking to hijack Liverpool’s move for the South American.
Neres is capable of playing across the front-line and Mauricio Pochettino is keen on increasing his attacking options (h/t Sun).
Tottenham did sign several players in the summer but our attack has been hurt without Giovani Lo Celso. The Argentine has been out injured since the previous international break, while Jack Clarke was sent back to Leeds for a loan spell.
Tottenham need a versatile attacker
Although Spurs have Son Heung-min, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura to help out Harry Kane, we could do with some young blood in the team.
Moura and Lamela have had their issues with consistency and Neres would provide a lot of options for the manager.
The Brazilian also helped the national team win the Copa America in the summer, and has three goals and an assist for Ajax this season. Tottenham were one of the big spenders in the previous summer and it will be interesting to see if we make similar moves in the upcoming transfer windows.

The Brazilian would develop further under Pochettino, and he would be a smart signing for the future too.
