Hugo Lloris suffers dislocated elbow in loss to Brighton on Saturday
Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris suffered a dislocated elbow in the 3-0 defeat to Brighton, a club statement confirmed.
The French keeper picked up the injury after landing awkwardly in the opening minutes of the game. Lloris was unable to keep hold of a cross and hurt his elbow in the fall as Neal Maupay scored in the third minute.
The 32-year-old was in severe pain as his teammates signalled for the medics to rush onto the field. Lloris was given a lot of treatment on the pitch and was replaced by Paulo Gazzaniga.
The release could not confirm the extent of how long he would be out for, and the Frenchman is set for more tests (h/t Tottenhamhotspur.com):
“Assessment will continue this coming week to ascertain the full extent of the injury and the length of time he will require to undergo rehabilitation.”
Injuries pile up for Tottenham
The players might have been a little shocked after Lloris’ injury, and the sight wasn’t great as his elbow was twisted in the wrong direction.
We conceded two more goals in a tough afternoon at Brighton, and Lloris is the latest player to be sidelined for us this season.
Tottenham have had a terrible time with injuries this season as several stars have been out for a while. Ryan Sessegnon, Giovani Lo Celso, Juan Foyth and Tanguy Ndombele have all missed games.
