Mauricio Pochettino is not worried about losing Tottenham job
Tottenham’s season hit another low on Saturday after the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton.
Spurs needed a positive result after the hammering we received by Bayern Munich in midweek, but things didn’t start off well for us.
Neal Maupay capitalised on a Hugo Lloris error in the third minute and our captain had to leave with a dislocated elbow.
Things were made worse by Aaron Connolly’s brace, and we barely mustered anything in the attack. Mauricio Pochettino was asked if he was concerned about his job and replied (h/t Daily Mail):
“No, I’m not worried. What worries me is life, not football.”
Pochettino backs team to get back to winning ways
The Argentine added that he was open to criticism for the results and didn’t need to show his commitment too.
Pochettino claimed that Tottenham would get back to winning ways, and the results weren’t going to change his ambition:
“My commitment is there after five years and a half [at the club]. I need to accept all criticism.
“It’s not going to change my ambition. We can bounce back. I feel sorry for our fans.”
It has been a tough start to the campaign with several poor performances by the team. Pochettino has to shoulder some of the blame for the results but the players haven’t done their bit for the club either.
