Tottenham players face wage cuts if they fail to qualify for Champions League
Tottenham stars face wage cuts and bonus losses should they fail to reach the Champions League next season, according to the Daily Mail.
Spurs have started this season in poor form and lie ninth in the table after eight games. The latest defeat was a 3-0 one at the hands of Brighton, and we were extremely poor against the Seagulls at the weekend.
Hugo Lloris also picked up a serious injury, but our overall play was nowhere near the quality we possess. The report adds that Daniel Levy introduced an incentivised structure that protects Tottenham should the club miss out on Champions League qualification.
Tottenham’s campaign in the competition hasn’t been great either, with just one point from the opening two games.
Spurs were beaten 7-2 by Bayern Munich at home recently, and this lack of form should send some alarm bells ringing.
Tottenham have to get their house in order
Although some blame has to be put on Mauricio Pochettino’s shoulders for the results, our players haven’t covered themselves in glory either.
They don’t seem to be doing enough on the pitch and we seem to be missing a spark in the side. There are a few who are trying to do their bit, but all eleven players have to put in a shift when playing at the highest level.
