Alasdair Gold claims Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon are unlikely to face Watford
Two of Tottenham’s summer signings are unlikely to feature against Watford, according to Alasdair Gold.
The Tottenham correspondent was participating in a Q+A session for Football.london and was asked several questions regarding the club.
Gold was asked by one supporter if Giovani Lo Celso or Ryan Sessegnon would feature against Watford, however, the pair seems set to miss this game too (h/t Football.london):
“I’d be surprised. The indications from the club would be that they would be back in training during the international break but even if they were it would be a big ask to throw them back in against Watford.”
Sessegnon has already suffered a problem in his comeback from a hamstring injury, and Gold claimed that Spurs would be careful regarding the Englishman’s return.
The correspondent added that Pochettino would listen to the sports science staff and the pair would continue training until they were ready to play.
Spurs need the pair to recover quickly
The lack of fresh faces this season has been a problem for Spurs. Lo Celso could have replaced Christian Eriksen in the starting XI but the Argentine has only three substitute appearances for us.
Sessegnon could be our new left-back and is capable of playing in the attack too. However, the 19-year-old is yet to play for us since joining in the summer. Tottenham need to be careful regarding their returns and hopefully, they can stay fit after they complete their recovery.
