Mauricio Pochettino won’t make moves in January transfer window
Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that Tottenham won’t make any moves in the January transfer window.
The Argentine had earlier spoken about fixing the team once the window opens, however, that is unlikely to happen (h/t Football.london):
“I believe in the players we have. I believe in the players that are in Tottenham today.”
The manager was speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Watford clash and backed the players he has at hand:
“I respect the opinion of people who say we need to change or do something, in or out. But if it is my decision I am going
to to stick with players because I know have the quality.“It’s only to unlock some situation that is going on in their minds. We have
great quality to achieve the things we are expected to.”
Tottenham signed four players in the summer but only Tanguy Ndombele has featured regularly for us. Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon have been injured while Jack Clarke is on loan at Leeds.
Tottenham could have done with fresh faces
Pochettino doesn’t make many moves in January but we could have done with more players coming in.
The squad does need a bit of freshening up and we have many players on the final years of their contracts.
Danny Rose also tried to seal and exit in the summer and failed to move while Serge Aurier and Eric Dier are struggling for form.

This statement from Pochettino will come as a bit of a dampener for our January plans, and the Argentine has a lot of work to do if we are to fix the season.
