Tottenham to monitor Dybala and Fernandes as January moves planned
Tottenham will monitor Paulo Dybala and Bruno Fernandes despite failing to land either of them in the summer, according to Football.london.
Spurs signed four players in the summer but things haven’t worked out for Mauricio Pochettino. Tottenham have struggled in recent weeks and need some fresh faces in the side.
The report claims that Spurs would have to make moves in January as five players are free agents at the end of the season.
Dybala has had his problems at Juventus but seems to be back in the good books of Maurizio Sarri. Fernandes, for his part, is scoring for fun and would be an excellent addition to the side.
The easier deal for Spurs
The report highlights that Fernandes’ deal would be easier to complete given that terms were “already agreed with the player in the summer”.
However, Sporting could hike up their asking price knowing that Tottenham are “desperate” to land the Portugal international (h/t Football.london). Dybala would be the more difficult deal to complete given that he is playing for Juventus now, and there have been issues regarding his image rights in the past (h/t Football.london).
Signing players in the winter window always carries a risk as it takes time for the player to adjust to the Premier League.
The lack of a pre-season for winter signings makes it difficult to incorporate them into the team easily, and we have seen Lucas Moura take time to adjust to our play. Hopefully, Tottenham
