Tottenham stars unhappy with training schedule under Mauricio Pochettino
The Daily Mail reports that several Tottenham stars are unhappy with the amount of training under Mauricio Pochettino.
The players are also blaming the intensity of these training sessions for the poor start to the season, and last Tuesday was the first day off since 15th September (h/t Daily Mail).
Another problem the players have is the lack of free time ever since the new accommodation block was inaugurated in 2018 (h/t Daily Mail).
The report claims that Pochettino wants players to stay overnight after European games and warm-downs are scheduled for the next day, which reduces the players’ free time.
Spurs’ next complete day off is on 28th October after their trip to Liverpool, and they will train and play this week due to their participation in the Champions League (h/t Daily Mail).
Lack of effort showing on the pitch too
Tottenham’s pressing hasn’t been as great as it was years ago, and that is affecting our results.
The game against Brighton was one of the worst performances by the team under Poch, and there wasn’t any real pressure on the home side too.
The extra sessions could have played a role in this, and it will be interesting to see how things work after our latest 1-1 draw vs Watford.
