Harry Kane laughs off speculation that Tottenham’s stars are being trained too hard
Tottenham face a must-win game against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Tuesday. Spurs have just one point from their opening two group games, and things haven’t been that great for us in the Premier League either.
We fought hard to draw against Watford on Saturday after coming back from a goal down but Harry Kane was in a positive state of mind ahead of the midweek clash.
The Englishman wanted the team to stick together and believed that a win over Red Star could kick-start the season.
The England captain was also asked if the players were being trained a little too hard, but Kane just laughed off the matter (h/t Football.london):
“(Laughs) There’s going to be speculation when things aren’t going well. We’ve been working hard since the manager came here and it would be wrong for us to do more or less than we’ve always done.”
The forward added that this was the “toughest time” for him at the club but claimed this was just a part of the journey:
“It’s just another challenge though. The road to success will always have bumps and this is just one of them.”
Kane needs to fire against Red Star
The English forward is one of the best in the world but needs to do better in front of goal.
Kane didn’t score in the previous game and it will be interesting to see how he does against the Serbians.
