Tottenham are unwilling to sack Mauricio Pochettino despite poor start to season
Mauricio Pochettino has seen Tottenham struggle this season in all competitions. We have been knocked out of the Carabao Cup and have just one point from the opening two Champions League group games.
Our Premier League campaign has been below par and we needed a late Dele Alli goal to salvage a point against Watford at the weekend.
The Argentine acknowledged that he is under pressure and hinted that he could lose his job too (h/t Express):
“If we don’t improve our performances and results, what is going to be the result? It’s always the same in football.”
However, the Express claims that Tottenham have no desire to fire the Argentine after he improved the side.
Pochettino has made us regulars in the Champions League and we reached the final of the competition last campaign. Spurs also handed the manager a five-year deal in 2018 and he is one of the best in the game too.
The right decision for now by Spurs
Sacking Poch now makes no sense given the amount of work he has done with the club and turning us into a quality side.
This is his first set of poor results since Pochettino’s arrival, and he has the ability to turn things around. Some of our stars can leave for free in the summer while others have missed parts of the season due to injury.
