AC Milan tracking Serge Aurier as summer exit looms

AC Milan are eyeing a replacement for Davide Calabria after some inconsistent seasons, according to Calciomercato.

The Milan giants haven’t been great this season with their city rivals, Inter, fighting Juventus for top spot in the league.

The report claims that Milan are keeping tabs on several right-backs as they look to replace Calabria, with Serge Aurier on the list. The Ivorian has struggled for consistency this season and didn’t start the campaign as the first-choice either.

He did play in our 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade yesterday, however, the report claims that the 26-year-old can leave in the summer. Milan are also keen on Djibril Sidibe from the Premier League and have targets in France too (h/t Calciomercato).

Aurier’s time with Spurs coming to an end?

It will be interesting to see when Milan make their move for the right-back. A January deal for Aurier might not work given that Tottenham don’t have enough quality cover for the position.

Kyle Walker-Peters is the only senior right-back we have in the team while Juan Foyth can also play in that position.

Moussa Sissoko and Davinson Sanchez have also featured there this season but they haven’t impressed. Aurier has failed to make the right-back spot his own since joining from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ivorian has been injured several times over the past two seasons, and losing him won’t be much of a problem as long as we bring in a replacement.
