Tottenham tracking Gremio forward Everton Soares
Tottenham are tracking Brazil and Gremio star Everton Soares, according to Sky Sports. Our chief scout Steve Hitchen watched the striker in action during Gremio’s game against Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores (h/t Sky Sports).
The 23-year-old plays mostly on the left-hand side of the attack and even helped the national side win the Copa America in the summer.
The forward already has eight goals and four assists from 20 appearances in the Brazilian league this season. Soares was linked with Arsenal in the summer and won the Golden Boot in the Copa America (h/t Sky Sports).

Gabriel Barbosa is on loan at Flamengo from Inter Milan and the report claims that the Spurs scout could have been impressed by his performance too.
Hitchen was also watching other Argentine games too, with Boca Juniors, Newell’s Old Boys, San Lorenzo and Banfield his targets (h/t Sky Sports).
Tottenham could do with some fresh faces in January, and we’ll have to wait to see if Mauricio Pochettino dips into the market. The Argentine has signed several South American players during his tenure at Tottenham.
