Rafael van der Vaart tells Daniel Levy to sign Hakim Ziyech
Former Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart has told Daniel Levy to sign Hakim Ziyech in the summer. The Morocco international helped Ajax reach the Champions League semi-finals last season but Tottenham beat them to face Liverpool.
Ziyech has been one of the most consistent for players at Ajax and was linked with Tottenham in the summer (h/t Sky Sports).
Van der Vaart had a decent spell at Tottenham and spoke to Voetbal Primeur about Ziyech’s quality (h/t Sky Sports):
“I really hope he goes to Tottenham Hotspur, I sent a message today to [Daniel] Levy, I said: Get Ziyech after this season.
“I am convinced that he becomes a sensation in London, and I also wish him that.
“I hope Spurs takes him and we will see.”
Ziyech continues to impress
The attacking midfielder can play in several positions and has five goals and five assists from 10 Eredivisie games this season. Ziyech would add more quality and competition for places at Tottenham, and he could be a shrewd signing by Mauricio Pochettino.
We have a great relationship with Ajax, having signed several players in the past, and the Moroccan can certainly do a decent job here. It was surprising that the Ajax star remained at the club as his teammates left for greener pastures.
