Tottenham to hand chances to youngsters and not spend in January
Tottenham won’t make moves in the January transfer window and give youth a chance, according to The Athletic (h/t Daily Star).
Spurs have a had a tough campaign so far, with the team struggling to string together quality results.
Mauricio Pochettino had suggested that the winter market would give Tottenham a chance to fix things, however, the report claims that it won’t take place.
Oliver Skipp, Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga are three players who Spurs could use in the coming months (h/t Daily Star).
Time for changes at Tottenham
Several Tottenham stars are out of contracts at the end of the season, and their performances haven’t been great either.
Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen have fared poorly this season and can leave for nothing in the summer.
Danny Rose, Dele Alli and Serge Aurier have also struggled this season and some young faces can turn things around for us.
However, this is a risky strategy taken by Pochettino given the lack of first-team experience of the three youngsters.
Parrott featured in our Carabao Cup loss to Colchester United while Skipp has some first-team minutes from last season.
Tanganga could solve some of our defensive issues but we haven’t seen two of our summer signings perform much this season either.
Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso haven’t started for us since joining the club in the summer.
