Manchester United believe they can sign Christian Eriksen in January
Tottenham star Christian Eriksen is a free agent at the end of the season. The 27-year-old has only scored a couple of goals for Tottenham this season but was on target in the win over Red Star last night.
Manchester United are interested in the Dane and tried to sign him in the summer (h/t Express).
However, they pulled out of the deal as Eriksen wanted to move to Spain, but Real Madrid and Barcelona are cooling their interest in the 27-year-old (h/t Express).
The Metro (h/t Express) reports that United believe they can land the Dane if they bid in January.
United don’t believe they can land him in the summer but hope that Spurs accept the deal in the winter window (h/t Express).
Tottenham to make things difficult for United
Spurs have sold some of their best players to United in the Premier League era. Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Carrick are two who made the jump to Old Trafford.
The report claims that we refused to sell Gareth Bale to United in 2013. We have also stopped Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier from joining our Premier League rivals (h/t Express).
It will be interesting to see what happens with Eriksen in the winter window. Selling him in January would get us some money but keeping him until the end of the season allows him to leave on a free transfer.
