Tottenham confirm Hugo Lloris has surgery on injured elbow

Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has undergone surgery on his left elbow, a club statement confirmed. The captain dislocated the elbow in our loss to Brighton a few weeks ago and left the pitch in agony.

The release adds that specialists found that the elbow remained unstable and surgery was advised after several tests.

Lloris is expected to rejoin training early next year and hopefully, he comes back in top form.

Gazzaniga stepping up in place of Lloris

The Frenchman has been replaced by Paulo Gazzaniga, and the Argentine has done a decent job so far. Gazzaniga made several saves at Anfield as we lost 2-1 to Liverpool a couple of weeks ago.

The Argentine was also in action in our 4-0 win over Red Star during the midweek Champions League clash.

Tottenham also tried a new centre-back pairing with Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez doing well in the heart of the defence.

Gazzaniga and the rest of the team have to be a little careful in their next game as we host Sheffield United. Chris Wilder’s side have already drawn against Chelsea and beaten Arsenal this season.

The Blades lie sixth in the Premier League at the moment and are just a point behind the Gunners in the table. Spurs need to start winning league games as we are 10 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea at the moment.
