Christian Eriksen doesn’t believe contract issues have led to Tottenham snub
Christian Eriksen doesn’t think that his contract situation at Tottenham is the reason for not featuring recently.
The Dane is a free agent at the end of the campaign and has only scored two goals in the season.
Eriksen came off the bench in our win over Red Star Belgrade but didn’t get any minutes in the 1-1 draw against Sheffield United.
The 27-year-old is interested in a move to Real Madrid (h/t Daily Mail) but failed to leave in the summer.
However, Eriksen was quoted by BT saying that his lack of recent playing time isn’t due to his contract (h/t Daily Mail):
“I feel 100 per cent that Tottenham has complete confidence in me. There is not that big a difference, except that I play a little less this year.
“I don’t feel there is a connection between my contract situation and the fact that I haven’t played as many matches.”
Eriksen vows to cut out mistakes
The Dane spoke about some of his mistakes on the pitch and claimed he wasn’t taking the “right decisions” on the pitch.
Eriksen added that he wanted to cut out these errors and improve his sharpness on the pitch too.
The 27-year-old is away with the national team for a crucial Euro 2020 qualifier against Gibraltar.
A win will take the Danes to Euro 2020, and it will be interesting to see how Eriksen does against them.

We need the Dane to be at his best for the rest of the season too. Tottenham’s performances have been below par for most of the campaign, and hopefully, Eriksen regains his form soon.
