Tottenham could move for AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini in January
Tottenham are interested in signing AS Roma talent Lorenzo Pellegrini, according to Calciomercato (h/t Sky Sports).
The Italian has become a regular for the national team and can play in several attacking positions.
Pellegrini has also been tried as a defensive midfielder this season and has one goal and five assists to his name.
The 23-year-old can play as the attacking midfielder or out wide too and could make a move for him in the January window (h/t Sky Sports).
Christian Eriksen is out of a contract at the end of the season, and a move for Pellegrini depends on Spurs selling the Dane during the winter window (h/t Sky Sports).
Eriksen has struggled for consistency this season and has racked up just two goals to his name in the campaign.
The Dane was also left on the bench in our 1-1 draw against Sheffield United. Eriksen didn’t even start in the win over Red Star Belgrade in midweek.
Tottenham need to plan well for the future
Losing Eriksen on a free at the end of the season would be a blow, however, we need to plan for any possibility regarding the Dane.
We need to find a suitable replacement for Eriksen if he is sold in the winter window.

Spurs also have two centre-backs out of contracts at the end of this campaign. Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are free agents in the summer, and we need to plan for their possible departures too.
