Danny Rose plans to see out his Tottenham contract
Danny Rose wants to see out his Tottenham contract and leave as a free agent in 2021.
The English defender was allowed to find a new club in the summer but was unable to leave Spurs (h/t Telegraph).
Rose has been our first-choice left-back this season but we have also signed Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham.
Sessegnon has struggled with injuries since joining while Ben Davies signed a new deal at the start of the campaign.
Rose was speaking ahead of England’s international games and wanted to address his future (h/t Telegraph):
“It’s pretty obvious what happened [in the summer].
“People upstairs at Tottenham were trying to do what they were trying to do. I’ve said [to them] I’ve got 18 months left on my contract and I’m not going anywhere until my contract has finished.”
The left-back also spoke about not getting a new deal by the club:
“[Tottenham chairman] Daniel Levy told me in the summer there was no new contract for me at Tottenham, which is fine. I respect that. We move on.”
Rose has no problems with Pochettino
The 29-year-old also praised Mauricio Pochettino and claimed the Argentine has been supportive throughout his career at Tottenham.
Rose has played 11 games for us this season, however, he only has one assist to his name so far.
