Mauricio Pochettino upset at failure to sign Philippe Coutinho in summer
Mauricio Pochettino is unhappy after missing out on Philippe Coutinho in the summer, reports The Sun.
The former Liverpool star was sent out on loan to Bayern Munich in the summer but has only scored twice so far this season.
Coutinho played under Pochettino during their spell at Espanyol, and the Brazilian did a decent job on loan at the La Liga club.
The Sun adds that Pochettino has complained about a lack of funds to rebuild his Spurs team.
Tottenham reached the Champions League final in the previous campaign, but have struggled for positive results this season.
We lie 14th in the Premier League and are 11 points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
Tottenham struggling throughout the campaign
The Premier League has been tough on us but things haven’t been better in other competitions too.
We were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Colchester United and lost 7-2 to Bayern Munich at home in the Champions League.
Coutinho’s time in the Bundesliga hasn’t gone extremely well, and it would have been interesting to see him at Tottenham.
The Brazilian was great during his Liverpool spell, and Pochettino could have extracted the best out of the midfielder at Spurs.
Christian Eriksen is one of the players who has struggled for goals this season too. The Dane only has two to his name and was on the bench in the 1-1 draw against Sheffield.

Coutinho is going through a similar patch too, and has come off the bench in his last two appearances for Bayern.
