Tottenham’s £2m offer for Peterborough’s Ricky-Jade Jones rejected
Tottenham have seen a £2million offer for Peterborough’s Ricky-Jade Jones rejected by the League One club, according to the Daily Mail.
Jones has broken into the first-team this season and already has a couple of senior goals for the side.
The 17-year-old can play in the midfield or as a striker and has attracted the attention of other clubs too.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Leicester and Arsenal have all kept an eye on the English talent. Peterborough fear that a January bid for their highly-rated is imminent too (h/t Daily Mail).
Jones came through the academy at the League One club, and they did sign him to a new contract recently.
The report claims that the £2m Spurs offer rejected by Borough is just the start of a possible bidding war for the rising talent.
There were a lot of eyes watching the youngster against Burton with Manchester United, Burnley, Southampton and Spurs in attendance too.
Spurs have a quality young attacker on their books
Although Jones could turn out to be a great signing for us, Troy Parrott is the one that needs more game time.
The youngster featured in our Carabao Cup exit but needs to play more first-team games.
It will be interesting to see if the 17-year-old gets more chances under Jose Mourinho.
