Tottenham and Liverpool to battle it out for Memphis Depay
Tottenham are interested in Lyon attacker Memphis Depay, according to Calciomercato (h/t Express).
Liverpool are also keen on the Dutch international and the report adds that any deal for the 25-year-old could be around the €50m mark.
Depay has turned his career around after joining Lyon from Manchester United. The former PSV Eindhoven star couldn’t get to grips with his career at Old Trafford but has been in exceptional form for the Ligue 1 giants.
The attacker has 12 goals to his name for Lyon this season and is a regular for the Dutch national team too.
Depay would be a great addition to the Tottenham team, however, there is one other club who could be in the running.
United to make a move for Depay?
His stint at Old Trafford was far from great, however, United have a buy-back clause in his contract and could make a move for Depay (h/t Express).
The report claims that we are in a better position to move for Depay as Jose Mourinho wants to strengthen the team in January.
The new boss has seen us win our first three games in charge and Dele Alli is scoring for fun again. However, Spurs do have Giovani Lo Celso and the Argentine is yet to shine after joining in the summer.
Mourinho has been a breath of fresh air and his new demeanour seems to keep him grounded too.
