Tottenham interested in AS Roma star Edin Dzeko ahead of January window

Tottenham are interested in signing AS Roma forward Edin Dzeko in the January window, according to the Mirror (h/t Metro).

The 33-year-old won the Premier League twice with Manchester City but left them to join Roma initially on loan.

The Bosnian has done a great job with the Italians and recently signed a new deal with them. Dzeko has scored eight goals in all competitions for the club, but Jose Mourinho is eyeing him ahead of the winter window (h/t Metro).

The report claims that Mourinho wants an out-and-out striker to reduce the load on Harry Kane. He also wants an option should the England captain pick up an injury.

Dzeko is expected to be one of Tottenham’s priorities in the winter, however, he might not come on the cheap given that he still has two years left on his Roma deal (h/t Metro).

The Bosnian knows the Premier League well, but will have to spend more time on the bench should he join Spurs.

Tottenham need to have some cover for Kane given that we only have Troy Parrott on the books. Son Heung-min or Lucas Moura can play in that position, and it will be interesting to see our plans for January.

Tottenham return to winning ways

Spurs bounced back in perfect fashion after their defeat to Manchester United. We beat Burnley 5-0 at home with Son scoring a goal of the season contender.

Kane scored a couple of great goals too while Moura also got on the score sheet. Moussa Sissoko finished off the scoring with the final goal of the game.
