Ex-Spurs winger Gareth Bale could return to Tottenham Hotspur
According to The Daily Star, Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale has been in contact with Tottenham Hotspur with a return to London on the cards.
Bale, who has led Madrid to four Champions League crowns, has found himself at odds with manager Zinedine Zidane since the Frenchman’s return to the club in March. (h/t Guardian)
Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013 after spending six seasons at Tottenham, during which, he went from being a promising talent to a world-class winger.
El Desmarque (h/t Daily Star) claim that Tottenham are readying a deal worth £25.7m plus Christian Eriksen to bring Bale back to the club.
With Eriksen’s contract running out in the summer and Madrid’s continued interest in the player, Spurs hope that including the Danish playmaker in a deal for Bale will tempt Madrid to make the sale. (h/t Daily Mail)
Madrid reportedly pay Bale £350,000-per-week and will be glad to get the wages off their books if a deal can be agreed for the Welshman. (h/t Express)
