Arsenal legend believes Tottenham must keep hold of this 69-goal star

Ian Wright believes Spurs must secure Eriksen extension

With Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen’s signature set to expire in the summer, Spurs are left with less than 48 hours before the player is free to discuss terms with other clubs. (h/t Express)

Eriksen has been a stalwart in the Tottenham midfield for 7 years and will leave a hole that’s not easily filled. It becomes more apparent given Lo Celso’s poor return and Ndombele’s injuries.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that Spurs should do everything in our power to hold onto the Danish international. (h/t Football London)

Speaking on BBC Match of the Day, Wright was complimentary of the difference Eriksen made to the Spurs team.

“Eriksen came on and he started to produce the kind of football that you weren’t seeing in the first half,”

“He got himself in positions, it’s the way the speed and the swiftness in which he changed the game. Eriksen, that little bit of quality, they are going to miss him if he’s not going to be around and they’ve got to do everything they can to keep him.”

It’s not hard to agree with Wright after having seen the Danish playmaker come on and make a difference in the second half against Brighton or score a beautiful freekick against Norwich.

There aren’t many players in the Spurs team who can do anything similar.

Since joining from Ajax Amsterdam in 2012, Eriksen has gone on to make 299 appearances for Tottenham and has scored 69 goals for the club.

He continues to be linked with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
