Tottenham to offer cash plus Christian Eriksen in hopes of landing Gareth Bale
Tottenham are set to offer £25.7million and Christian Eriksen in hopes of landing Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, according to El Desmarque (h/t Sun).
The report claims that Bale has also spoken with Jose Mourinho over a return to Spurs. Bale was one of our top stars a few years back, and then made a huge money move to Real Madrid in 2013.
The 30-year-old hasn’t always been liked by the Real Madrid fans, but has helped them win several Champions League crowns.
Bale has scored two goals and provided two assists in the Spanish league this season, but isn’t a regular starter under Zinedine Zidane.
Eriksen too has struggled for form this season under Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho. The 27-year-old scored in the 2-2 draw against Norwich last night, but we should have won the game.
A decent deal for Spurs
Eriksen is also a free agent at the end of the season and making some money from his sale would be great.
Losing someone like Eriksen for nothing at the end of the campaign would be a blow, and a swap deal to land Bale isn’t the worst option.
The Welshman has had his injury problems since leaving Spurs, but he could still do a decent job under Mourinho.
