The Danish star, whose contract is up in the summer, has drawn considerable attention from the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. With the player free to talk to clubs this month, Spurs would rather sell him now than lose him for free in the summer.
The 27-year-old has been a stalwart in the Spurs midfield since his move from Ajax in 2013. He has made over 300 appearances, having scored 69 times for the North Londoners. (h/t Whoscored)
Eriksen had spoken of his desire for a new challenge after the Champions League final against Liverpool. With no deal materializing in the summer, the midfielder has so far refused to sign an extension.
Inter will pay Tottenham £20million to secure the player’s services. It’s a bargain price for a player of Eriksen’s calibre but it is still better than losing him for nothing in 6 months.

Eriksen, who has not had the best of seasons, has seen an upturn in form since Mourinho’s appointment. The midfielder’s departure can open the door for Giovani lo Celso to impress. He has played 23 times for Tottenham this season, scoring 3 goals, including a brilliant freekick against Norwich City.
