Eriksen is out of contract in the summer and is keen on a move to the Italian giants. Personal terms are not expected to be a problem with the problem currently lying in the difference in valuation between the clubs.
Tottenham value the midfielder at £17million, double of what Inter have offered so far. Eriksen will add immediate quality to an Inter Milan side chasing their first Scudetto since 2009-10.
Eriksen played 90 minutes in Tottenham’s FA Cup third-round replay victory against Middlesbrough. He was jeered by the Spurs faithful who were clearly unhappy at his attitude. Giovani Lo Celso had a brilliant game and could be the replacement to Erikson going forward.
Manager Jose Mourinho praised the player’s professionalism and believes the player can leave the club with his head held high. (h/t Sky Sports)
The midfielder has wanted out ever since Tottenham’s Champions League final loss against Liverpool. With no deal materializing in the summer, he has been forced to stay at Tottenham.
Tottenham completed the signing of Gedson Fernandes on an 18-month loan to address their shortcomings in midfield. With more options now in midfield, Spurs could let the Danishman go this month rather than lose him for free in the summer.
