The Danish star’s contract expires in the summer and he can leave for a free at the end of the season.
It is believed that Spurs are likely to cash in on the player in the January transfer window rather than lose him for nothing in the summer.
It was reported that Inter Milan had offered Tottenham a deal worth £8.5million for the 27-year-old. Tottenham value the player at £17million are said to be holding out for the amount.
Inter Milan are keen on completing the deal and could offer Players in exchange rather than increase their offer monetarily.
Tottenham are suffering from an injury crisis with the likes of Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko out for the majority of the season. Inter believe that offering players in return would help deal with their injury crisis and would be ideal for all parties.
Eriksen was booed prior to kick-off as Tottenham beat Middlesbrough 2-1 in an FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday.
The midfielder played the full 90 mins of the match and received praise from Jose Mourinho for his professionalism. (h/t Sky Sports)
