AC Milan are believed to be in favor of selling the striker having recently resigned Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Italians were reportedly keen to recoup the £31m they paid for the striker a year ago.
Spurs are in the midst of an injury crisis and with Kane out, have no fit senior striker in the squad. With Champions League qualification a necessity, the club has had to turn to the transfer market for solutions.
Spurs have also been linked with moves for Ze Luis and Edinson Cavani in the January transfer window.
