The club have been in talks with the player since the end of last year. They have, however, picked up now after the emergence of Tanganga as a first-team regular (h/t Daily Mail).
With opportunities easier to come by, there is a real belief that the player will commit his future to the club.
The defender, who can play at centre-back and right-back, made his senior competitive debut in our Carabao Cup third round tie at Colchester United in September 2019. However, it was in his first Premier League start against European Champions Liverpool that he really came to the fore.
An impressive performance against top opposition was rewarded with more appearances. The youngster has adapted well to the rigours of senior football and looks at home in Mourinho’s backline.
Tanganga currently earns in the region of £1,000-per-week. Spurs are now offering him a huge pay-rise which would take his salary to around £15,000-per-week. Added to it will be a lucrative incentive package that would see his deal move closer towards the £20,000-per-week mark. (h/t Daily Mail)
The report also goes on to say that there will also be a promise of another new contract and pay rise once he makes a certain number of first-team appearances for the club.
