Tottenham interested in signing Rafael Camacho
Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing former Liverpool man Rafael Camacho. Spurs are scouting the young winger, who joined Sporting Lisbon in the summer. (h/t Express)
A graduate of the Liverpool academy, the 19-year-old has also represented Manchester City at the youth level. Camacho moved to Sporting Lisob last summer in search of more first-team opportunities in a deal worth £7 million.
Jurgen Klopp was keen to extend the contract of the youngster. However, in spite of having provisionally agreed terms on an extension with the club, Camacho was angered by Liverpool’s reluctance to allow him to go out on loan to Sporting. (h/t Daily Mail)
The youngster has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season and is keen on a return to England.
Liverpool are also keeping tabs on the player. Camacho scored his first senior goal against Portimonense in the Taca da Liga this season. He made one senior appearance for Liverpool against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup in 2019.
Any deal could be complicated by the news that Liverpool have a buy-back clause inserted in the deal. The Reds will also take home 20 per cent of any future sale. (h/t Daily Mail)
Although primarily deployed on the left-wing, the youngster is also adept on the other flank.
