Erik Lamela to return for Premier League clash against Aston Villa
Tottenham Hotspur fans will be glad to know that Erik Lamela will return for the Premier League clash against Aston Villa this Sunday. (h/t Birmingham Live)
The 27-year-old injured his groin in the 2-0 victory over defending champions Manchester City. The setback ruled him out of the FA Cup Fourth round replay against Southampton last week.
The issue is not thought to be serious and the player is nearing a return.
Lamela took to Instagram to tease his return to action. This should come as good news to Spurs going into an important run of games. The midfielder’s return could prove to be even more significant considering the potential ban faced by Dele Alli.
Lamela has scored four goals and three assists in 21 appearances for Tottenham this season. (h/t Whoscored)
