Chelsea star Willian hints at possible Tottenham move to reunite with Mourinho
According to a report by Daily Star, Chelsea star Willian has hinted that he could move to Tottenham Hotspur in an attempt to reunite with former boss Jose Mourinho. The pair worked together for a good number of years at Chelsea and the report indicates that the attacker continues to exchange texts with the Portuguese boss.
Mourinho played a key role in helping the winger establish himself as a force to reckon with at Stamford Bridge during his second stint in West London.
The report adds that Willian’s current contract with the Blues will expire this summer and there have been talks about a renewal. If that’s the case, the player will be free to leave the club once the season ends.
Daily Star suggests that the player was a target for Mourinho during his time at Manchester United as well but a deal could not be hashed out. Speaking about his relationship with the Tottenham boss, Willian said:
“People ask me about the best coaches I have had. For sure, Mourinho is one of them.”

The Brazilian added that he would not want to leave London anytime soon. With his Chelsea contract set to expire soon, a move to Tottenham would allow him to reunite with Mourinho and also keep him in his preferred place. He added:
“I have played for Chelsea for more than six years now, and I can honestly say that I am very happy here. If you ask my wife if she wants to leave London, she’ll say no.
“So London is where I want to stay. This is where I have my family, my church. I want my daughters to grow up here.”
We could use someone of Willian’s skills and experience in the attack. Hence, Tottenham should consider signing the Chelsea winger in the near future.
