Tottenham lost ground in the race for the top four with a 3-2 home loss against Wolves
Tottenham twice led in the clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers, yet ended up on the losing side at their home ground.
Dele Alli was given a start, with Jose Mourinho going with two wing-backs in an effort to get the better of the away side on the break.
It started well for us, with Steven Bergwijn scoring off a rebound that came off Dele Alli’s shot. However, Wolves pegged us back a few minutes later with Matt Doherty getting the equaliser.
Tottenham went into the break with the lead, thanks to a superb Serge Aurier strike from just inside the box. However, things took a turn for the worst in the second half.
Wolves roar back
First, it was Diogo Jota who scored from a great cross after the break. Spurs tried to get back into the lead but it was the Portuguese who created the next goal.
Raul Jimenez cut inside before slotting past Paulo Gazzaniga. Spurs had a few chances towards the end but Wolves held on they moved ahead of us in the league.
We now lie five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, but this was another poor performance as Wolves could have scored more than the three.
Many fans were upset at the result while some vented their frustration at Mourinho, calling for his dismissal. Spurs haven’t been able to kick on since Mourinho’s arrival, and that seems to be getting to some fans.
