Rio Ferdinand believes Harry Kane to Manchester United is a no go
According to the Mirror, Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand just cannot see Harry Kane joining his former club.
The Spurs ace has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer. Apart from the Red Devils, Manchester City and Juventus have also expressed interest in signing the 26-year-old.
In spite of having four years left on his Spurs contract, Kane could be tempted to leave following yet another trophyless season. The English captain is the club’s third all-time goalscorer. Yet he does not have a single trophy to show for his contributions.
Two reasons why!
Ferdinand believes that Tottenham will not want to sell a key player to their rivals. Jose Mourinho will also seek to block such a move after being sacked by United in 2018.
“Mourinho wouldn’t let him go to Man Utd.”
The former Red Devils star has made it no secret of his wish to see the Spurs marksman strut his stuff at Old Trafford. He has, however, made his peace with the knowledge that Tottenham will not let the player go.
The race for the Champions League
Tottenham have enjoyed a forgettable season, especially after the heights of reaching the Champions League final last year. Currently eighth in the table, we are struggling to even qualify for Europe’s premier competition next season.
United, on the other hand, could make use of two avenues to reach the Champions League. Not only are the Red Devils well placed to challenge Chelsea for the fourth spot, but are also in with a shout to win the Europa League.
The latter path will not be new for United who qualified for the competition as Europa League Champions in 2017.

Kane has not played for Tottenham since going off injured against Southampton on New Year’s Day. He is close to a return and is expected to be fit for full training in two to three weeks. The 26-year-old is the club’s top scorer this season and his return will be a huge boost.
