Tottenham slapped with a £45m price-tag for Marcel Sabitzer by RB Leipzig
According to a report by German publication Bild (h/t Daily Star), RB Leipzig will demand a transfer fee of £45m (€50m) for Tottenham transfer target Marcel Sabitzer.
Sabitzer has been a key member of the RB Leipzig side for a number of years now. The 26-year-old has impressed heavily this season, playing a crucial role in his side’s push for the Bundesliga title and Champions League progression.
Sabitzer has scored 15 goals in 35 matches in all competitions this season. That includes the brace he scored against Tottenham to eliminate us from the Champions League. Having seen first-hand what the Austrian can offer, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has identified him as a key transfer target ahead of next season. (h/t Daily Mail)
And as per the report from Bild (h/t Daily Star), Leipzig have slapped a £45m price-tag on their prized asset.
Lack of goals from midfield a concern for Mou
Tottenham’s season has been blighted by injuries to key personnel, especially in the attacking department. In the absence of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min & co., goals have been hard to come by. Our primary source of goals in their absence, Dele Alli, has endured a mixed bag of a season. And Christian Eriksen was sold in January.
So, signing a player like Sabitzer, who can score goals regularly from midfield and create chances for teammates, would be a step in the right direction for Mourinho and Tottenham.

Sabitzer is also being tailed by arch-rivals Arsenal (h/t Daily Mail). Let’s hope that our chairman acts swiftly and secures the signing of the £45m rated midfielder in the summer.
