Tottenham interested in Lazio duo Thomas Strakosha and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
According to Football.London, Tottenham are planning a double raid on Lazio for goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha and midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Given how this season has gone, it is of paramount importance that Tottenham invest in the squad next summer, across all departments.
Captain Hugo Lloris has shown signs of regression this season and backup goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga hasn’t really made much of an impression. To that end, Lazio’s Thomas Strakosha has emerged as a viable target for the club. (h/t Football.London)
The Albanian international has impressed heavily this season, keeping 9 clean sheets in 26 Serie A matches, helping Lazio to the best defensive record in the league.
Along with Strakosha, Mourinho and Tottenham are also targeting his club teammate Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. (h/t Football.London)
The Tottenham manager is keen on adding a new box-to-box midfielder to the ranks, having been left unimpressed by Tanguy Ndombele. And Milinkovic-Savic is being lined up as a potential signing, with Mourinho of the view that the Serbian international can cope better with the physical demands of Premier League football. Milinkovic-Savic too, like Strakosha, has had an impressive season so far, having scored 5 goals and 7 assists in 31 matches in all competitions. He has a contract with Lazio till the summer of 2024.

Both Strakosha and Milinkovic-Savic have been pivotal in Lazio’s campaign so far, helping them push Juventus in the Serie A title race. They have the ability to improve the quality of our squad should they arrive in the summer but it is unlikely to be easy to convince Lazio to part with two of their best players.
