Tottenham confident of keeping hold of Harry Kane despite recent interview
Tottenham Hotspur are confident that they will not lose star striker Harry Kane this summer, reports the Daily Mail.
Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham has become a subject of speculation of late, with rumours swirling around that our star centre-forward is open to the possibility of an exit (Goal h/t The Sun).
The speculations have only intensified after Kane, in an interview with Jamie Redknapp on Instagram, claimed that he would not stay at Tottenham if he felt that the club was not moving in the right direction (h/t Sky Sports).
There has been interest in our talisman from our Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United, while Serie A champions Juventus too have been credited with an interest (Tuttosport h/t Mirror).
However, as per the report from Daily Mail, Tottenham are confident of holding onto Kane ahead of next season. The club believe that we are in a strong position to keep hold of the 26-year-old even if we miss out Champions League qualification for next season.
Kane has still four years left on his £200,000-a-week deal with Tottenham. This means that the club is under no pressure to offload him at the moment.
Also, the club has put a valuation of £200m on our talisman. Given the reputation of our chairman Daniel Levy’s negotiation powers, any suitor would find it hard to convince him to lower that asking price. (h/t Daily Mail)

Moreover, the coronavirus pandemic is likely to have an adverse effect on transfers this summer. Levy himself is of the belief that big money transfers will not be happening this summer. All these factors have given Spurs confidence that Harry Kane will be staying put at the club beyond the summer (h/t Daily Mail).
However, we need to match our talisman’s ambitions in the transfer market and on the pitch, if he remains our player in the long run.
