Unique coach who revolutionized Liverpool could work with Tottenham next season

Thomas Gronnemark could work with Spurs in the future

According to German publication Kicker (h/t Mirror), innovative coach Thomas Gronnemark could choose to work with Tottenham Hotspur in the future.

The specialist throw-in coach was appointed by Jurgen Klopp 18 months ago and has gone on to revolutionize the club’s ability to make the best use of the highly overlooked set piece.

Although not on the club’s permanent rolls, Gronnemark’s impact has been significant. A freelancer, the Dane is employed by a number of teams across Europe.

He held the Guinness World Record for the longest throw-in and was a member of the Danish bobsled team for 4 years.

Under the Dane, Liverpool have improved their ability to retain possession from throw-ins. Although the Reds were initially ridiculed for the appointment, they have had the last laugh regarding their vision to do so.

Jurgen Klopp has been effusive in praise of the person who has transformed his side’s fortunes. After 18 months on Merseyside, Gronnemark could be in need for a change. (h/t Mirror)

He has mentioned Tottenham Hotspur as one of the two English clubs where he could end up, with Manchester United being the other. (h/t Mirror)

The Dane also revealed that he turned down an offer from another English team. He has a strict rule against working with competitors in the same league at the same time. (h/t Mirror)

He does, however, hope to prove himself in the Bundesliga in the future. His is so far a singular talent and the coach himself is unaware of anyone else working in his field. (h/t Mirror)

He did, however, reveal that a number of folks are recognizing the potential the field has to offer and are trying to make inroads. (h/t Mirror)

It is unsure if Gronnemark can be tempted to leave Liverpool. In Jurgen Klopp, he has a believer and someone who stood by him despite the ridicule he received when he was appointed.

Time has proven the German wiser and his team has since benefited. Tottenham could also do with a forward-looking approach in outmaneuvering our opponents.

More than a decade ago, Jose Mourinho came to Chelsea and changed football at Stamford Bridge as we know it. He could do the same again at Tottenham – with help from a Danish coach of singular skills.
