Ricky Sacks believes Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Dean Henderson

According to freelance journalist and podcaster Ricky Sacks (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Dean Henderson in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a stellar debut season in the English top flight. His performances have seen Sheffield United sit pretty in seventh, with European qualification a real possibility.

Henderson has made 27 appearances in the Premier League and has kept 10 clean sheets. He is behind only Nick Pope, the Burnley custodian who has 11, in the race for the golden glove.

The youngster is a Manchester United player who is currently on loan. He joined the blades on loan in 2018, back when Jose Mourinho was in charge sat Old Trafford. He has conceded just 65 goals in 76 appearances, an average of less than a goal a game.

Lloris has been an exceptional servant to Spurs. He has been the undisputed number one at the club since joining us in 2012. In the eight years since, he has established himself as one of the best in the business. He is also one of just six Tottenham players to have made 250+ appearances in the Premier League.

Over the years the French captain has stepped up time and time again to make unbelievable saves. He also has a knack of saving penalties as he saved five spot-kicks in the Premier League till date, just four off the all-time record of nine.

Time to pass the torch

Lloris will be 34 this year and is currently on the wane. Although capable of putting up a performance, he has gotten too prone to making errors as well. It is time Spurs looked to bring in a keeper who can take over from the imperious Frenchman.

Henderson is one of the best young keepers in the game today and has both the skills and attitude to become a master of his position.

It is unlikely United will want to sell such a gem of a player, especially to a direct rival. However, stranger things have happened in football and if we can, signing Henderson should be a no brainer.
